Steak-Frites & Secret Sauce

Hi, I’m Florence. My husband, Soheil, and I opened Entrecôte to bring one of my favourite family traditions to Vancouver.

Growing up, going for entrecôte with my family was one of my favourite weekend traditions. I loved the food, but just as much, I loved being somewhere that felt familiar and spending that time together. When I moved to Vancouver, after more than a decade working in restaurants and hotels, I missed that experience. Over time, the idea of opening a place of our own started to feel like something we should actually do.

Soheil and I began working on the sauce in our kitchen at home. We made different versions, shared them with friends and kept adjusting until we found the balance we were looking for. It became the starting point for Entrecôte: an independent restaurant inspired by a Parisian tradition, with a recipe we developed ourselves here in Vancouver.

We serve one main course: steak with our secret sauce, hand-cut frites and a butter lettuce and walnut salad. Keeping things focused lets us spend our time on the details, listen to our guests and keep improving.

What I hope for is simple: that you feel comfortable here, whether you’re bringing someone for a special occasion or just coming in for dinner. Those weekends with my family have stayed with me all these years. It would mean a lot to us if Entrecôte became part of your own traditions, too.
